APPOINTMENT OF ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER OF POLICE – MR. GODFRA HERMITTE

Mr. Godfra Hermitte was today formally appointed as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) during a ceremony held this morning at the Seychelles Police Force Headquarters. The appointment ceremony was attended by members of the senior officers of the Seychelles Police Force, as well as the Principal Secretary for Homeland Security Ms. Sheryl Vengadasamy.
ACP Hermitte began his career with the Seychelles Police Force in 1984 and brings with him over 42 years of experience in policing and public service. Returning to the Force in the role of Assistant Commissioner, he possesses a strong professional background in law enforcement with expertise in human resource management and a long-standing passion for youth development and capacity building.
Throughout his career, ACP Hermitte has demonstrated a deep commitment to professional development, particularly in training and mentoring young officers. His wealth of knowledge and experience is expected to contribute positively to strengthening institutional capacity and supporting the continue development of the Seychelles Police Force.
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ted Barbe, congratulated ACP Hermitte for on his appointment and expressed strong confidence in the value he brings to the force. The Commissioner highlighted that this appointment is expected to result in positive and meaningful progress and noted that he looks forward to working closely with both ACP Hermitte and ACP Ned Wirtz to drive reforms and initiatives that will further enhance professionalism, effectiveness and public trust within the Seychelles Police Force.
