Message from the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Godfra Hermitte, on the Occasion of International Children’s Day
On the occasion of International Children’s Day, I extend my warmest wishes to all children across our nation. This special day reminds us of the importance of nurturing, protecting, and empowering every child, as they are the foundation of our future. I wish to make a special mention of the children of our police officers. Your parents play a vital and demanding role across our country. For the children role for our country, in ensuring, peace and security for all. At the same time, they carry the equally important responsibility of being parents and guardians, committed to your wellbeing, guidance, and development. Their dedication, both in service and at home, is truly commendable.
As Commissioner of Police, I reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that the rights of all children are respected and upheld at all times. The Police Force remains fully dedicated to playing a clear and active role in safeguarding the welfare and development of children, creating an environment where they can grow, learn, and thrive in safety and dignity. I also take this opportunity to call upon all officers, especially our family support squad unit and Child Protection Unit within the Police Force to continue playing their part in promoting protection and preventing all forms of abuse against children. It is a shared responsibility that requires vigilance, compassion, and unity.
Let us continue to work together to build a safer, more caring society where every child feels valued, protected, and inspired to reach their full potential.
Happy International Children’s Day to all.
