A 61-year-old Mauritian arrested upon his arrival at the Seychelles International Airport on Sunday morning for disorderly conduct and physical assault of cabin crew on board flight HM 1O7 on its way to Mahé from Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport has reappeared before court today and has been charged with the offence of “willfully acting in a manner likely to endanger an aircraft or a person therein”. Such offence carries a maximum fine penalty of 18,000 Seychelles rupees or two years’ imprisonment.
The accused, who was first brought to court on Monday this week, is being further remanded until July 20.
The police are carrying out an investigation into the sudden death of a 35-year-old man from Bel Ombre which occurred today at his residence.
Meanwhile the postmortem result is being awaited to establish the exact cause of death.
The sudden death of Faisel Fanchette, who was being treated for heart problem, was reported at around 10.55 yesterday morning.
