International Women’s Day Speech – Acting Commissioner of Police

Today, as we gather to celebrate International Women’s Day, we honour the strength, resilience and invaluable contributions of women in our communities, our workplaces and our nation. This day is not only a celebration, but also a reminder of our collective responsibility to uphold equality, dignity and respect for all.
Within the Seychelles Police Force, we recognise the vital role women play not only as officers, leaders and professionals, but also as mothers, sisters and daughters who inspire us every day. Their courage in service, their compassion in protecting the vulnerable and their determination in upholding justice truly embody the values that our organisation stands for.
As Acting Commissioner of Police, I reaffirm our commitment to fostering a safe, respectful and supportive environment where women can thrive, both within the Force and throughout our society. We must continue to challenge barriers, promote fairness and empower women to reach their fullest potential.
Let us also remember that protecting women’s rights is inseparable from protecting human rights. Every act of respect, every policy of inclusion and every gesture of solidarity strengthens the fabric of our nation.
On this International Women’s Day, I extend my sincere gratitude to all women, especially those serving in law enforcement, for their dedication, professionalism and sacrifice. You are pillars of strength, guardians of peace and role models for generations to come.
Happy International Women’s Day. May we continue to work together towards a future built on equality, justice and shared progress.
