The ceremony featured a Guard of Honour and the rendering of formal honours, symbolising the Force’s deep appreciation for Mr Barbe’s leadership, dedication, and many years of committed service. At the conclusion of the official proceedings, he was ceremonially escorted from the Parade Square, a gesture reflecting the respect and gratitude of the institution he faithfully served.
In his farewell remarks, Mr Barbe expressed confidence in the future of the Force under the leadership of the Incoming Acting Commissioner of Police, Godfra Hermitte. He reaffirmed his belief in the continuity of strong leadership and the enduring values of service to the nation.
The ceremony was presided over by Acting Commissioner Hermitte and attended by both senior and junior police officers, who gathered to recognise Mr Barbe’s contributions and to underscore the smooth and orderly transition of leadership within the Seychelles Police Force.
The Exit Parade Ceremony stands as a testament to the Force’s commitment to tradition, honour, and the enduring principles of duty and service to the people of Seychelles.
