Seychelles Police Financial Crime Investigation Unit Wins ARINSA Award of Excellence

The Seychelles Police Financial Crime Investigation Unit (SPF-FCIU) has been honored with the ARINSA Award of Excellence for its outstanding contribution to asset recovery and the fight against money laundering.

ARINSA (Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network for Southern Africa), in partnership with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime under the leadership of Ms. Lindy Muzila and her dedicated team, unites 17 countries to ensure that crime does not pay. Seychelles joined the network in 2016 and has since benefited from ARINSA’s training, technical support, and regional cooperation, strengthening its ability to recover illicit assets and return them to the financial system for the benefit of communities and victims of crime.

The award recognizes the leadership of Sergeant Ariana Ah-Kon, ARINSA’s main contact point for Seychelles, and her dedicated team, supported by the FCIU cryptocurrency unit and the FCIU management team headed by Assistant Superintendent Marcus Jean. Their efforts, alongside other stakeholders and the Seychelles Police Management team, have positioned Seychelles as a strong regional partner in asset recovery. 

ARINSA is currently presided over by Ms. Margaret Kapambwe-Chitundu of Zambia, under whose leadership the network continues to expand its impact across Southern Africa.
