Two men, one woman arrested for drug related offence

The National Drugs Enforcement Agency (NDEA) has arrested three persons for the offence of trafficking in a controlled drug during the course of last weekend and in the middle of this week.

During an operation conducted on Saturday April 15, 2017 at Kap Bonm Zan, Anse Royale NDEA agents arrested a 45-year-old man after they found herbal materials suspected to be cannabis drug and 180 suspected cannabis plants at his house.

Also found during the operation after the NDEA searched his house was a digital scale and a sum of R3,125 in different denominations.

 

He was brought before the Magistrate court on April 17, 2017 and was remanded until the following day when he reappeared before the court and was released on conditions as investigation continues in his case. 

In a second operation on Sunday April 16, 2017 a 31-year-old woman was arrested in the Plaisance district by NDEA agents after they found with her approximately 42.6 grammes of herbal material suspected to be cannabis drug wrapped separately in different pieces of cling film.

Seychelles Police

The NDEA agents also found with her a digital scale and a sum of R300. After being arrested a case was registered against her for the courts. She was detained at the Central Police Station and released the following day, Monday April 17, 2017 on conditions.

Lastly, on Tuesday April 18, 2017 NDEA agents arrested a 21-year-old fisherman after they body-searched him and found approximately 4 grammes of suspected heroin drug with him.

A case was registered against him at the NDEA station for the courts. He was detained at the Central Police Station and released from custody on Wednesday April 19, 2017 on conditions.
