Three Missing Foreign Visitors Found Safe After Overnight Search Operation

An extensive search and rescue operation launched on Friday 10th October 2025 for three missing foreign visitors at Talbot Cascade and Mont Séber Trail has ended successfully in the early hours of Saturday 11th October 2025, with all individuals found safe and in good health.

The operation, which began around 1400 hours, involved officers from the Dog Unit, Anse Aux Pins Police Station, and civilian volunteers Mr. Malik Labonte and Mr. Christian Lionnet, both known for their continued assistance to the police in such emergencies.

Despite difficult terrain and nightfall, the team displayed remarkable determination and teamwork. After returning briefly to Anse Aux Pins around 2100 hours to regroup and refresh, the rescuers decided to resume the search late into the night. Fully aware of the risks involved, they were prepared to remain in the forest until the missing persons were located.

The team later received additional support from civilians Mr. Lester Underwood and Mr. Jimmy Jacques, together with K9 Officer Cpl. Joseph. Their combined efforts led to the successful location of the three missing tourists around 1:15 a.m., bringing the intense operation to a positive conclusion.

The success of this operation demonstrates the value of strong collaboration between the police and members of the public. Their courage and perseverance reflect the highest standards of service and dedication.

The Seychelles Police Force extended its gratitude to everyone who took part in the rescue mission, emphasizing that their actions not only saved lives but also reinforced public confidence in joint emergency response efforts.
